Greta was a hunting dog found by the side of the road in West Milford. Her teeth were filed, and her shoulder was shattered from being kicked. Now that she is at OMS, her right leg has been replaced with a prosthetic and she can use a sling to support herself in place of her left front leg. She is 19 years old and has been at OMS for 10 years.

Beau was found under a van at a recreational park. He has OCD- without treatment he gets nervous, walks perimeters, arranges his toys, and has other compulsive habits but at OMS he gets his medicine every day.Quincy was found on Christmas Eve by the Long Island Expressway, buried in snow. He was so sick that vets doubted he would live past two years, but at OMS he lived to be eight before passing this past year.
Silli was a beach dog in Aruba who was going to be put down. After being rescued, she had nine puppies (all happily adopted now). She often helped with the therapy OMS does with feral kittens (read about it in the About section). Silli lived at OMS for 9 years, but had heartworm disease and passed this year at age 14.Trapper lived in a shelter in Passaic, but she escaped from her cage and hid in the rafters. She got her name because employees at the shelter would see her and yell, “Trap her!” She is now 9 years old.


Mercedes gave birth to a litter of feral kittens in a car. She is 11 now and one of her kittens survived- read about the therapy they received in the About section.
Gerbils usually live for 2 years. These were saved from a pet store where whey were overcrowded and fighting in their cages, and they lived to be seven years old at OMS.
